Update on my Mirage

The boat arrived from Texas and was a bit rougher than I thought, so I will not be making it out to Puddingstone, shooting for Parker. I will be at Puddingstone as a spectator and will look everyone up.

The lower unit was junk, so its getting a CLE lower and a new gearset as well as hydraulic steering put on.

Welcome back Walt--thought maybe we lost you!! Great to hear that you are working on your boat--Can't make Puddingstone, how about your "home" waters of Havasu on Easter week-end. The CORs have been invited to run with the GranPrix hydros. Please fwd me your E-mail so I can keep you up to speed on future events. Rod PS We'll be doing a little "bench" racing at the CARANZA boys motorhome after the races Saturday evening. Should be fun.

#128 Greg Ronkiainen, our newest rookie, (new to COR but not to boat racing) has reported that his FLYING FINN has received its final "tune-up" and OK to run from Miguel (Mercury dealership specializing in race-ready competition) . I have the #88 boat apart but should have it ready! The Caranza #45 boat is going together as we speak and is scheduled for testing on Thursday. The R & R Prop shop, #234 is always ready as is Emilio's #05. Skip Euwing plans on at least a Saturday showing. Johnny Lightning plans on running at least one of his boats and may have the other ready for a mystery driver. How many is that? I lost count but it will certainly be enough to make a very respectable class of COR boats. Be sure and look up the APBA SANCTION so you don't get caught with your "boots" down. Rod Zapf COR Chairman TESTING WILL BE ALLOWED ON FRIDAY 4:00 TO 6:00?? $50.00 check the sanction!

If you want to send your entries in early and save yourself some time: Go to the APBA web site. To the right you will find RESOURCES, click on it. Once there, scroll all the way to about 5th from the bottom and you will find ENTRY BLANKS. OR, IF YOU WANT TO DO IT THE EASY WAY, simply go to RACE ENTRY FORM on the COR web site, Mike Q has made it easy for you. Print out and send to Scott Schatz ( you will find his address on the sanction, which is found under approved sanctions) or Scott Schatz, 675 Ebb Creek Drive, Unit K, Corona, Ca. 92880. Hey Walt, remember that there is a COR race this weekend in Havasu. At the very least, come say hi. :)

I will. The mirage has turned out to be a fuster cluck, need to lick my wounds and regroup. COR running sat and sun? Anything Friday?

Capnzee88's picture

Should be lots of time for testing on Friday--bring a helmet & jacket, take a ride in a COR.

As Rod said, just testing I think.
