New COR Members + Spy Photos

Word on the street is that we might have two new COR entrants. Tony Scarlata had so much fun driving the Blue Cheese Stoker in the Enduro 300, I heard he might enter the red Baker with a hot motor in an upcoming race. I also understand that JJ Gibbs may be building a top secret boat out in Havasu. We know he can build a quality COR boat. And both these guys can drive!

I spoke with the race director for this year's Enduro and he clarify the 2.0 Liter length is 17' 9". The COR rule is still 18' 6" until voted on at the annual meeting.

Thanks Mike. We are moving full speed ahead on prep for the enduro. Three more props to test, power head swap, additional fuel tank to finish installing and we should be good. Testing, testing and more testing.

I belive that if the COR boat length rule is adjusted to read 17'9" we will see this class grow at a rappid rate.
Having driven one of the first Mirage race boats built (just like the one Ron has) i can attest to it being a very safe boat for sprint or marathon compitition. My first race in it was at Havasu then short sprint races after that. Great boat.

Welcome James to the COR boat racing website. I understand James may have a COR 100 or might be looking at a COR 2.0. Glad to have you on the website.

Making progress... had the Baker running this weekend after 50 hours of hard labor trying to piece it together.... 50 hours for 50 minutes on the water, sounds about right.

S&S Performance and Marine extended the pickle forks on this Gen 1 Mirage and stretch it to 18" 6", replaced transom stringers, filled holes, sprayed new gel coat.... Nice looking work!

Is that my old Mirage that Ron and Chad bought?

007's picture

Yes. Chad and I have been working on with Scott. Lots of work.

Fun to drive and you`ll be suprised at how well it runs in rough water. They like to ride sorta high but spill air really well.

The new "pickles" look like they should have been there in the first place. Nice job all the way around. Rod

Ron Hill talked to Lonnie Morris today. He enjoyed his COR ride in the 757 at Salt Springs and I think he has purchased the DEL TACO GMT. He has a long racing history and I believe he is the owner of All Marine in Stockton. Welcome Lonnie to the COR family.

It is official! Lonnie picked up the Del Taco GMT boat. For those who met Lonnie at Salt Springs or know his racing reputation, he is great addition to the class and strong competitor. Lonnie will be running #850. Glad Tony was able to keep the boat in the COR class and hope we see Tony in and around COR in the future as well.

Stringers and Transom are finally done... how many days before the race??? We are running out of time.

Lonnie is new to COR racing, but he's been around the course a lot. I saw him win the D Mod Runabout Nationals about five years ago in New York. He owns All Marine in Stockton, California. I'm still trying to get him to the 336.

Apparently we have another new potential COR member who bought a boat and plans to race the Enduro. Hopefully we will get to meet them this weekend.

How many COR boats on the Enduro?

Baker343's picture

I'm en-route with the house car and the Baker. I'll try to keep it under the COR speed limit. Drive safe and see you all there.

Steve Gregory from Maine has the plans and rights for a Sleekcraft. He also has an older Sleekcraft that he is preparing for COR. He is looking for a driver and team to help him race the boat on west on COR.

He is accepting self nominations so he can determine who he would like to team with. Post here if interested or send us a note at info@corboatracing.com

Please welcome Mike Fjeld to the COR class. He brings a ton of experience from Super Sport race and has just purchased an open cockpit boat to run in COR.

Here is great shot of Mike running Supersport back in the 2002 timeframe.

Cool boats, what are those?

007's picture

The white boat is a Vison Craft which was a pop off the Seebold Eagle. I believe the other boat is Quatershot T1.

Del Taco spotted down at bandyland. Calling all COR style boats to the river.
